-
- Jairo,
-
- There are two different versions that can have jumpers. The newer one has 7,
- the older one has 6.
-
- On the latest Practical Peripherals internals the E1 through E7 jumpers are
- used for COM Port and IRQ selection. You must select for both COM Port and
- IRQ. E1 and E3 headers are used for COM Port selection only. The E4 through
- E7 headers are used for IRQ selection only.
-
- Here is a diagram showing the COM settings :
-
- COM 1 selected. Jumpers at E1 and E3
-
- E1 o--o o o E4
- o o E5
- E3 o--o o o E6
- o o E7
-
- COM 2 selected. Jumper at E3 only.
-

- E3 o--o o o E6
- o o E7
-
- COM 3 selected. Jumper at E1 only.
-
- E1 o--o o o E4
- o o E5
- E3 o o o o E6
- o o E7
-
- COM 4 selected. No jumpers on E1 or E3.

- IRQ 5 Selected. Install a jumper on E6.
-

- E3 o o o--o E6

-
-
- Since both the COM Port and IRQ selection needs to be accomplished when
- setting up the modem. The following is an example if you wished to set the
- modem up to use COM 3 and IRQ 5:
-
- E1 o--o o o E4
- o o E5
- E3 o o o--o E6
- o o E7
-
-
- On the earlier PM internal modems, the E1 through E6 jumpers are used for IRQ
- selection. With these jumpers you can pick IRQ3/4 operation, IRQ2, or IRQ5.
-
- Here is a diagram showing the IRQ settings :
-
- E1 E3 E5
-
- o--o o o o o
- o--o o o o o
-
- E2 E4 E6
-
- IRQ3 & IRQ4 selection.
-

- o o o--o o o
-
- E2 E4 E6
-
- IRQ2 selection.
-
- E1 E3 E5
-
- o o o o o--o
- o o o o o--o
-
- E2 E4 E6
-
- IRQ5 selection.
-
- Hopes this gives you what you need!
